Spring 2019 State Testing Results Available Online

Each spring all Washington public school students in grades 3-8 and 10 are tested in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. Students in grades 5, 8, and 11 are also tested in Science. This testing provides an assessment of student learning in identified content areas, yields data that schools and districts can use for instructional improvement, and meets state and federal assessment requirements.

Riverview School District parents and guardians can view their student’s results from the Spring 2019 state tests online. These scores are considered “preliminary” until all scores for the state are processed and reported statewide. However, OSPI allows the District to share these scores with families online as they are 99.9% accurate and reliable. While we do not anticipate any score changes, we will contact parents/guardians if/when we receive notice.

Please note the scores available now are for the Smarter Balanced Assessment ELA and Math exams. The District anticipates receiving the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) scores from OSPI in the fall. We will update student score reports in Family Access and notify families when they are finalized and available in the fall.

We are excited to provide a secure and efficient reporting option that allows parents/guardians access to results at the end of June.  If your student(s) took a state assessment with the Riverview School District this spring, his/her results are now available via Family Access in Skyward. (See login directions below.) This is the same account used for checking attendance and grades. Parents who do not have access to a computer or Internet access, and need a paper copy of their child’s results, should contact their child’s school office in late August.

The state’s Resources page www.k12.wa.us/Resources has many handouts that provide expanded information for families about state testing and learning standards. For information about graduation requirements, please visit the OSPI website at http://www.k12.wa.us/GraduationRequirements/.

Sincerely,

Dr. Randy Stocker
