On March 13, 2017, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Riverview School District Educational Service Center (ESC) in Duvall, the district will host a community forum about proposed boundary changes between Cherry Valley and Stillwater Elementary Schools.

Over the past four months, the Riverview School District convened a boundary review committee to provide recommendations. The boundary review committee's participants included parents, teachers, city personnel, principals from both schools, and district administration. The recommendations are aimed at reducing future overcrowding at Cherry Valley based on projected housing growth in the City of Duvall.

Currently, the majority of the area recommended for the boundary change is on Big Rock Road, across from Safeway, extending up the hill east, to 275th Avenue NE. The area includes land that is in the process of being permitted for the construction of approximately 500 housing units over the next two to five years.

At the Community Forum, a summary of the committee's work with recommendations will be shared. Participants will have an opportunity to provide feedback for the School Board to consider. The School Board will review all recommendations at the March 28th board meeting and make a final boundary decision at the April 25th board meeting.

Sincerely,

Dr. Anthony L. Smith
Superintendent
Riverview School District
