Riverview School District Announces New Calendar Revisions
for 2018-19 School Year
The Revised 2018-19 Calendar
After further review of the snow day make-up schedule, and conducting meetings with our associations, we have decided to gain an extra day by making the early releases on April 19 and 26, and May 3, 10, and 17, into full student days.
This will mean the last day of school for students will now be Tuesday, June 25 instead of Wednesday, June 26. Please note that Tuesday, June 25 will be a full school day for students.
This revised schedule will be contingent on OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction) granting three state waiver days (four for Cherry Valley Elementary), PSE (Public School Employees of Washington) and REA (Riverview Education Association) each signing a memorandum of understanding, Riverview School Board approval, and avoiding any more cancelled days.
If we do miss any more days, we will meet with our associations and decide on a plan based on options available to us at that time. Let's hope we don't miss any more days!
Thanks for everyone's patience, help, and support as we have worked through this challenge.
Sincerely and respectfully,
Dr. Anthony L. Smith
Riverview School District
