Cedarcrest Girls Soccer Team finishes 3rd in State
From Coach Robert Johnson:
"The 2005 season has been just as promising and successful as the last three. Led by senior captains Samantha Gillie and Jamie Coe (as well as the three other seniors Sarah Holerud, Nikki Pratto, and Rachel Dussell), our record over the last four years has improved to 63-12-4. This year's team is stacked top to bottom with loads of talent, all of whom have been contributing to our success. To date we have outscored our opponents 74-8 and our record is 17-1-1 . Our last three matches have all come in the District I tournament where we have knocked off Bellingham (12-2-2) by a score of 2-0, Burlington (13-2-4) in the semi finals 4-1, and Shorecrest (12-1-4) last night in the final 2-0 to win the District I Championship. Prior to that we played in the Cascade Conference and won that Championship with a perfect record of 10-0-0, outscoring our opponents 48-1"
Cedarcrest lost 3-2 in overtime in the semi-finals to Issaquah. They they went on to beat Seattle Prep in a shootout to finish 3rd in the state tournament. Cedarcrest's final record for the year was 20-2-1.
