Kindergarten Round-up
RIVERVIEW SCHOOL DISTRICT / KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATIONThe Riverview School District will welcome incoming Kindergarten students and their families during its annual “Kindergarten Round-Up” and registration during the month of March. We encourage all incoming kindergarten parents to register their child on the days set aside by each elementary school. Please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate and their complete immunization record with you. All Riverview elementary schools offer a tuition based All-day Kindergarten program as well as a half-day Kindergarten program. Kindergarten Extended Day care will also be offered with a minimum of eight students at all elementary schools. Specific information about each elementary school is as follows:
At Stillwater Elementary, the Kindergarten Round-up will begin with a Parent Informational Meeting on Tuesday night, March 25, 2008 from
6:00 - 7:00 P.M. in the Learning Resource Center. The evening will consist of a short principal’s message followed by presentations from our kindergarten teachers and Extended Day Specialist. Parents will also be given the opportunity to visit the kindergarten classrooms, tour the school, and pick up a registration packet. Stillwater office staff and the kindergarten teachers will also be available in the LRC the afternoon of March 26, 2008 from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. for parents to complete their registration packets. For those who wish to pick up the registration materials early, they will be available in the school office beginning
March 3, 2008. All Day Kindergarten packets need to be turned in by Thursday, April 3, 2008 to be considered for the lottery drawing which will take place on April 4, 2008. Carnation Elementary will be hosting their Parent Informational Meeting and Meet the Teachers on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from 4:00 – 5:00 P.M. in the Learning Resource Center. Parents will have a chance to meet and hear from the principal and the current kindergarten teachers. Parents will be able to visit the classroom from 5:00 – 5:30 P.M.
Registrations materials may be picked up in the school office beginning Monday, March 17, 2008. On Wednesday, March 26, 2008 staff will be available in the computer lab just outside the office from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. to accept completed registration packets. Completed registration packets must be turned in by 4:00 P.M. Thursday, April 3, 2008 to be considered for the All Day Kindergarten lottery on April 4, 2008. Parents will be notified by mail by the end of April. A Spanish interpreter will be available during the designated times on both days. Cherry Valley Elementary will host its Parent Information Night on Monday, March 24, 2008 from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. in the school gym. The principal, kindergarten teachers, and related staff will be presenting information regarding their program for kindergarten students, including questions about transportation, registration, and what to expect during the first few days of school. A Spanish interpreter will also be present.
Cherry Valley office staff will be available on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. in the Extended Day Care Portable to accept completed registration packets. A Spanish interpreter will again be available, but only from 3:00-4:00. Registration packets may be picked up in the school office beginning March 17, 2008. Completed registration packets must be turned in by 4:00 P.M. Thursday, April 3, 2008 to be considered for the All Day Kindergarten lottery on April 4, 2008.
