Site-Based Councils (SBCs)

All of our sites have a Site-Based Council (SBC) in order to facilitate effective shared decision-making. The individual sites determine the organization, member selection criteria, procedures, and goals for their site.

At least fifty percent (50%) of the SBC must be Riverview Education Association (REA) certificated staff. In addition, there will be a parent position on each council and consideration will be given for representation of all groups of the school community.

Technology in Education

Riverview School District provides a wide range of computer resources to its students and staff for the purpose of advancing the educational mission of the District. These resources are provided and maintained at the District's and therefore, the public's expense. These resources are to be used by members of the school community with respect for the public trust through which they have been provided. The District conforms to the Internet Safety Policy recommendations of the Federal Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) which includes computer monitoring and the use of an Internet Filtering solution.

The Riverview School District recently passed a 4 year 2.6 million dollar Technology Levy.
